There is a common misconception that deciduous trees won’t perform well in the Qld climate. While this may be true for some lines, and a little bit of research goes a long way here! There are many areas in Qld where the mercury dips to a point where growing spectacular deciduous trees for their colourful blooms, foliage and architectural look is a definite possibility. Certainly, inland areas of Brisbane, The Granite Belt & Darling Downs (Toowoomba & Warwick), and areas of higher altitude such as in the Sunshine and Gold Coast Hinterland, Mount Tamborine and regional areas of South East Qld are very conducive to these types of trees growing and prospering.
Areas of particular suitability for these types of Trees include Toowoomba, Warwick, Stanthorpe, Tenterfield, Armidale, Glen Innes, Chinchilla, Roma, Dalby, Ipswich, Mount Tanbourine, Maleny, Montville, Mapleton, Boonah, Kalbar, Beaudesert, Allora, Aratula, Gold Coast Hinterland, Sunshine Coast Hinterland, Gympie, Texas, Inglewood, Goondiwindi, Killarney.
